Swimming - Day One

McKenzie had her first swim lesson of the summer today - she was the defiant head strong girl we know and love in the first few minutes - refusing to kick, refusing to do much of anything. Threatened with the idea of mom leaving for the remainder of the lesson, she warmed right up and then demanded to Mrs. Linda: I DON'T WANT TO KICK - I WANT TO SWIM!
From that moment on she picked right up from where she left off last summer at the ripe ol' age of 2 1/2. She was swimming underwater to Linda and towards the end of the hour was able to go about four feet by herself, trying to get those ice cream scoop arms out of the water.
We laughed at her stubborness at the end of class - Linda is sooooo good with the stubborn ones - and Linda said "She will DEFINITELY be swimming before the end of summer - not a doubt in my mind."
Yay - hopefully she will be water safe before Maui at the end of August.
