Weekend Fun

Big Bird, Elmo and Mason

Paul had earmarked this weeked for a monster street fair and chili cook-off in Ocean Beach. So, Sunday morning off we went - hoping to get there and get parked before the big crowds. Well, mission accomplished. We got all the way down there only to find out the street fair was only on Saturday. Hmph. So, 45 minutes south of home, two girls already lubed in sunblock but without bathing suits, overcast skies...what to do? The obvious answer, detour to Sea World for a few minutes of fun.

We ditched all of our routine activities at Sea World and spent the morning in the new Sesame Street Bay of Play. Caters mainly to the littles, so there was stuff both girls could do. Bonus is the photo studio where you can have your pictures taken with the Sesame Street characters - something Mason is now brave enough to do - and McKenzie, following in Mason's footsteps, at this age wants NO part of.

McKenzie tackles Mason on the giant infant/toddler trampoline.

The big sister returns the favor...

Its tough to laugh with your fist in your mouth (yes, teething...)

Mason enjoying the bigger kid trampoline...much much bouncier!

On a side note, McKenzie seems to be feeling better. Hopefully getting back to her old self - albeit slowly. I think the antibiotics really helped with that right off the bat. Still waiting for some test results and she will have f/u x-rays on Wednesday and see the ped again on Thursday. Hopefully at that point we'll be able to determine where we are and where we go from here. We are still doing the enemas at home - she's also on the miralax daily and getting 8 oz of apple juice (you know how I dislike them having the liquid candy - so this one pains me). She did poop on her own Saturday night at Robin's house - otherwise all poop has been the result of an enema still. We really need to get the blockage dislodged and out so we can focus on just keeping things moving through. Anyway, she definitely seems to be happier and feeling better - still sticks close by me, but not nearly the annoying clingyness it had become prior to last Tuesday.

So...fingers crossed!
