Might the heat wave be breaking? After a horribly hot weekend, the temperature outside is feeling more tolerable, the Bruins were victorious on Saturday in Palo Alto and Mason had her first official day of school today (yes, she is in preschool, but during the summer they don't have structured "work time")...maybe it will soon begin to feel like fall.

A weekend of fun activities and visiting with friends had to be put on hold as we shifted into "play it by ear" mode. Mason came home with a 103' temp on Wednesday afternoon - it appears it was just a virus, but nonetheless, plans to visit the Tirado's and new baby Cali, as well as other fun stuff had to be postponed. Grandma and Granddad did decide to come down for an overnight visit, which is always a treat. Mason's fever stayed down on Sunday and Monday so she was able to get a little swimming time in the pool with Granddad and mommy, and we braved the crowds at the beach on Monday for a little Labor Day adventure - boy was it bakin' hot.

We'll be resting up all week in preparation for our first tailgate of the season - and McKenzie's first football game, this Saturday at the Rose Bowl - should be a blast. We've had a baby explosion with our regular tailgating group since the last season ended in December - now with three new babies (all girls, ofcourse) and a total of seven little ones under the age of five - and a few 6+ - so lots of fun to be had by all.
