We had an impromtu visit to Palm Springs this past weekend to celebrate Grandma's 65th birthday (and McKenzie's 8 mo. birthday) with the family. To celebrate, McKenzie thought it would be a good day to start waving. Her first acual wave as a response to a hello and wave to her was to Daddy. Lucky guy. So cute, all five fingers bend, then splay as much as physically possible.
We had a little pool time when we got there Saturday afternoon, then went to dinner at the Chop House with Grandma and Granddad, Auntie Cia, Uncle Ron, Allie, Tori and Roni. Ice cream afterwards which Mason enjoyed and McKenzie slept through. Mason began the night with a slumber party in her cousin's room, but then moved into Grandma & Granddad's room to actually get some sleep.
We spent some time at the pool on Sunday before everyone hit the road for the return home. Mason had a blast playing with the toys she doesn't always have in the pool (namely Uncle Ron, Granddad, Tori and Allie). She was not short on playmates. McKenzie napped by the pool, trying desperately to catch up on sleep and took a dip in the pool with mommy - although she wanted no part of her dolphin floaty that Grandma brought her - I think she'll love it when we try it rested - Mason loved hers when she was little.
A nice weekend with family - although too short. Back to work, school and daycare, with another fun weekend ahead of Bruin football on Saturday.
Hope ya'll had a great weekend.
