All is Quiet

Not much to report on this weekend. After the long past week with the stomach flu, etc...McKenzie is fighting a cold and Mason really needed to get her naps in this weekend after surviving her first four days of napless pre-elementary. She did great Tues/Wed, but by Thursday evening, it was evident she was tired. Aside from random things like falling asleep on the way home from swimming lessons and being more than agreable at 7:45 that it was almost bed time - she was beginning to fall apart and stupid little things that typically would not be upsetting - such as McK and I being one step ahead of her on the stairs? Seriously? Yep, that induced tears. One tired girl. So, needless to say naps were the top priority this weekend, in hopes of catching up on some sleep and getting her off to a good start for the week.

We started the weekend off with swimming lessons Friday afternoon, which always make for a bit of an evening scramble, so we left Daddy home with a napping McKenzie (surprise?), we hit the pool and picked up pizza on the way home. We all hit the farmer's market Saturday morning, then Mason and I made a quick trip to the beach, then home for a nap. Sunday Paul had claimed the couch all day for the opening weekend of football - so once again, we left him with a napping McKenzie and Mason and I headed to the beach and hooked up with her classmate Devin and his family (his brother Reid is also in McK's class). Anyway, it was fun hanging out with them - then we all headed home...yep, once again for naps! :)
We closed out the weekend with dinner at Babci & Grandys....Pretty mellow weekend.
And, since many of you enjoyed McKenzie's sleep count, I thought I would do it again this weekend...

Friday: Woke up at 7:40 am, came home from school at 11:30 am - 4:15 pm...to bed at 7 pm. Total Waking Time: 6 hrs. 45 minutes
Saturday: Woke up at 7:45 am, napped 10:30 am to 4 pm, then to bed at 7 pm. Total waking time: 5 hrs, 45 minutes
Sunday: Woke up at 8:20 am, napped 11 am - 4:15 and she didn't get to go to bet until 7:30 pm!! Total waking time: 6 hrs., 5 minutes
Grand total, and a huge improvement over last weekend...Total waking hours over the three days...18 hrs., 35 minutes.

Oh, and we have rescheduled her appt. with the GI specialist (was supposed to be this Wed) to the following week so we could take advantage of their satellite office which is, oh, maybe 20 minutes away or so, instead of an hour - so we have the VCUG test on Wed, Sept. 17 at Children's (San Diego) and the GI specialist on Thurs, Sept. 18 at a Children's satellite office in Escondido.

Boring....
