Day two brought us a full day of sun and play. We spent the day at Descanso Beach - which is really the only decent beach there - and even so, its really not kid friendly. Not sure where they get their sand, but its not soft and dry, its kind of like dirt and damp - so its uncomfortable to lay on and tough to play with and build sandcastles, etc...The beach is all rocks on the shoreline - ofcourse I didn't pack sand shoes, since we only use them for really hot sand/pavement - neither of which I thought we'd have on the island - and let me tell you how much we needed them! McK did fine w/her crocs on, but Mason struggled w/flip flops in the water - and Paul's good reefs sandals (yes, the ones with the flasks) either walked away or washed away while he was snorkeling (he went for awhile w/some folks we met on the boat on our way over).
After the beach we headed back for some long overdue naps, showers and back out into Avalon we went for dinner and ice cream cones! :)
McKenzie was after the pigeons all weekend - and loved any music we could find. She entertained the crowd in front of a bar w/kareoke - dancing, clapping, you name it. She also wasn't shy about asking for what she wants - she went up to two older ladies who were sitting down w/ice cream cones and very loudly said "Bite!?" and leaned over, knowing they would oblige her. How could they not? She actually got two bites out of the deal.
Trying to run from a wave (difficult on rocks) - while McKenzie and Daddy took it head on behind her...
Say Cheese!
Making Mason's pink lemonade into mudonade...Content, however, so all is good. And, strangely enough, Mason didn't mind either.

This weekend, this face was representative to one of two things: PIGEONS or MUSIC. This time it was music, as she was standing outside a waterfront bar while kareoke was going...she was groovin and clapping. We did Antonio's again for dinner, booths right on the water and decent food - who could ask for much more?
