I think it should be illegal to work on your birthday. Paul's birthday was yesterday, and it seemingly flew by amidst the everyday scrambles between the kids and work. Paul managed to sneak out of the Newport office early at least, so he got home at 5:30 instead of 7:30 pm - so at least there was celebration! We celebrated with a quick BBQ dinner, then off to Mason's school we went for Children's Night. (Back in the day, birthdays mid-week or weekend were still met with maggies at sunset on the 5th street patio - now, its work and Children's Night at school? Ah, the memories are sweet.) We managed to squeeze in a very quick Happy Birthday song for Paul before McKenzie went to bed - then the three of us enjoyed a little German Chocolate cake and presents! Mason drew a picture for Paul of our family - its very cute - its fun to watch her drawing evolve. I just might have to scan it and attach it.
