Birthday Weekend Highlights

Hangin' out with Devin on the tram....and in the park...

So, Mason turned four on Sunday, Feb. 17. It was birthday fest, to say the least. We started out the celebration on Wednesday, Babci arrived from Texas to join in the festivities. Thursday was Valentine's Day, and Friday, we took off work and headed up to Disneyland!! It was the four of us, Babci, and Beth (Auntie Bunny) & Devin. A good time was had by all...to say the least. We got there at 11 am and left the park that night at 10 pm! Who knew! Mason did Pirates of the Caribbean, the Haunted House (Mason's favorite) the Matterhorn, Star Tours, and, drum roll please...yes, she did Space Mountain. I was more than nervous about her going on Space Mountain - but she LOVED it!! We managed to squeeze in a pretty uneventful visit to Toon Town also, but did manage to get her picture taken with Minnie Mouse.

Kevin, Kristin & Cali hooked up with us for the evening and we headed to California Adventure where we had a little dinner, a much needed margarita and some rides in the Bug's World, a few go rounds on the Carousel and mommy & daddy did California Screamer (yikes). We capped off the night with the electrical parade, and Mason had a queen's seat on Kevin's shoulders. McKenzie hung with everyone and everything, despite the beginnings of a cold which hit full tilt the next day - but Mason had a great time in the happiest place on earth!

All plans were off on Saturday as McKenzie was sick and everyone needed a little recuperation from Friday as well as prep for the big day to come...the official birthday! The official birthday rolled around on Sunday and we had family down for lunch and cake. Mason killed Babci's plan to BBQ tri tip for dinner with her out-of-the-blue request to go to Islands for her birthday dinner. She dawned her pink cowboy hat and her new UCLA hoops jersey to dinner and dined in style. After dinner, her new jersey proved to be good luck as the Bruins got a much welcomed victory over the "stinky Trojans" as she put it. I think she's right.

We closed out birthday fest on Monday with a trip down to Sea World for a few days...Fun was had by all. Happy Birthday, monkey!
